What does the Transportation Coordinator do at Swire Coca-Cola?
A Transportation Coordinator will provide resources to the Senior Manager, Transportation to include, but not limited to, contract carrier management, financial analysis, carrier service improvement routines (reporting and compliance cadences), claims processing and tracking, accounts payable, as well as provide backup transportation planning support for department vacations and absences. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and monitor our carrier operations to maximize efficiency and control cost.
- Facilitate Monthly Carrier Performance freight payment, cost accounting, and reporting
- Manage Transportation Management System as an Administration
- Assisting in processing Freight Claims in conjunction with field personnel and carriers
- Freight payables and P&L management
- Four Kites Lead Administrator
- Back up Transportation Manager and Transportation Planners during absences
- Monitor daily route planning to minimize deadhead expense, prioritize routing over other OTR providers, and evaluate expanding route assignments to capitalize on captive capacity, service and cost
- Control and oversight of resources incurring $80,000,000 of annual freight expense.
- Managing Tour functionality in TMS which will eliminate the need for manual cost allocation and calculation for Exchange routines and normal business analysis.
- Knowledge of basic Freight Claim law and rules
- Knowledge of Carrier Performance statistics and ability to determine carrier ROI
- Ability to forecast Transportation Planning, day to day routing and other decisions
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED) required and
- Currently enrolled in Logistics Studies or holding a Logistics degree, required
- 2-4 years Administrative Assistant experience required and
- 1-2 years Transportation industry experience required
- Self-starter and ability to work effectively without local supervision
- Courteous and Respectful of others
- Ability to communicate well with associates at all level of the organization and outside partners
- Openness to learning new skills and growing within the department and company.
- Proficient with Word, Excel and other Office Applications
- Access database skills
- Transportation Management Systems and Contract Carrier Management experience preferred
- Great Technical and Analytical Skills
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
