Location: This position will be on-site full-time in Chicopee, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).

Production Planner / Scheduler Summary:

The Production Planner / Scheduler is responsible for preparing the Plant production schedule and processing paperwork for the production areas.

Production Planner / Scheduler Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Active participation in daily Operations meetings.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between customer service and production.
  • Synchronizes production schedules between departments.
  • Identifies and escalates any material shortfalls.
  • Communicates with purchasing in advance of acknowledgement of new customer orders and creating production schedule.
  • Acknowledges new orders to customer service within established time frames.
  • Monitors Safety Stock levels as required.
  • Engineers, adjusts, and releases production jobs, including setting quantities and completion dates to meet schedule requirements.
  • Uses the ERP system to adjust and confirm a production schedule for each production area.
  • Coordinates with Material Handling to ensure raw materials are staged.
  • Communicates schedule adjustments with the Production Supervisor and area Team Leads.
  • Establishes a daily, weekly and monthly production schedule with the goal of achieving and maintaining on time delivery to target service level.
  • Evaluates production schedule and communicates forecasted sales figures to management.
  • Executes daily finished goods to stock transfers.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Production Planner / Scheduler Qualification Requirements:
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years manufacturing experience desired.
  • Epicor experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality system procedures and work instructions.
