Overview

Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates education activities of Nationwide Children?s Hospital and its subsidiaries in collaboration with clinical, research, administrative and community partners. Supports project and program development, fiscal management and administrative support for assigned education activities.

Schedule: FT, Benefits Eligible, M-F 8:00am-5:00pm

Location: Central Campus (700 Childrens Dr.)

Responsibilities

    Coordinates initial and ongoing development of education programs. Recommends new programs and technology based on evaluation and needs assessment. Participates in the development of an annual plan for community education that is consistent with strategic priorities.
  • Collaborates with Marketing, community partners, hospital and physician leaders, coordinators and program committee to increase the visibility of Nationwide Children's Hospital education programs. Maintains up-to-date information on the Web.
  • Coordinates formative and summative evaluation of education programs. Aggregates data for trend analysis. Assists in implementation and tracking of improvements.
  • Manages files and databases to assure complete and accurate records. Ensures reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Maintains reporting and regulatory initiatives as assigned.
  • Manages meeting planning. Recommends and administers operations and expenses for assigned cost centers. Participates in ongoing professional development activities.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as well as travel, as schedule dictates.Note: Regular, reliable and consistent attendance is an essential job function. Employees are expected to perform work as scheduled. Please see the physical requirements for this position listed below.


Qualifications

EDUCATION: College degree or equivalent experience required.

LICENSURE: Must have a valid Ohio driver's license for travel as necessary.

CERTIFICATIONS: Graduate Medical Education positions only: Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) certification required within three years of start for candidates without a college degree.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Strong command of the English language, grammar and spelling.
  • Interdisciplinary program planning required.
  • Data analysis and analytical thinking.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 - 5 years experience in program planning or project management.
  • Supervisory experience is also desired.
  • Experience in policy development and fiscal management required.
  • Driving personal vehicle is required.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Drives throughout Central Ohio
  • Lifts, reaches, carries, pulls and pushes educational materials up to 50 pounds
  • Sits at computer for desk work
  • Talks with and listens to customers concerning professional conferences
  • Types on computer keyboard for library searches, document preparation and database management
