THE BIG PICTURE As an Operator 1, your primary duties includeoperatingand maintaining heavy operating equipment as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures. Must be able to be a leader and trainer on solar tasks and responsibilities. KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) A. Operate the following equipment based on the requirements of the project: Forklift/Telehandler Bobcat/Skid-steer B. Follow prescribed safety regulations C. Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area D. Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning E. Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction F. Follow work plans and pre-task cards G. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels H. Positive attitude and professional customer service skills C. Detail orientation D. Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operator equipment E. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals, and load charts F. Knowledge of equipment and their uses G. Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication) H. Ability to work independently I. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A. Equipment certifications as required B. Minimum one year of related experience C. Current driver's license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS A. Ability to frequently work in heat and other weather conditions B. Frequently crouch, kneel, squat, climb C. Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs D. Frequently reach high and low places E. Ability to see, hear, balance, and review job sites F. Ability to sit, stand and walk throughout work day G. Ability to use repetitive hand/arm/leg movements H. Must be able to dust, grease/oil machinery I.
