Overview

This position is responsible for the accurate accounting of raw, pack, and work in process (WiP) inventory performing counts, creating standards for counting, provide training, analyzing variances to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies. This position will handle Cycle Counting overview, work with Operations and the Warehouse to ensure proper Cycle Counting Inventory. This position also performs a variety of clerical duties including data entry and maintenance of files and records.



Responsibilities

    Serving as an inventory management systems and processes expert responsible for the effectiveness of all assigned inventory locations
  • Designing inventory storage layouts for Supply Chain managed inventory locations
  • Analyzing & management of stocking levels (high levels, reorder points, critical levels) for these areas and adjusting stocking levels to meet seasonal and census-driven demand
  • Analyzing and reporting supply utilization and other performance metrics; This may require creating ad hoc queries from ERP/WMS system and/or manipulating data retrieved from any source
  • Review, update, and create job aides for ERP/WMS usage & training; Review, investigate, develop, and implement corrective actions for variances related to cycle counts
  • Collaboratively working with Manager of Materials Distribution on process, resource and system issues that impact inventory accuracy and service levels
  • Continually evaluating product velocity to ensure the right products are located within assigned areas at optimum stocking levels that balance service levels with operational and supply costs
  • Uploading ERP/WMS system data such as Bill of Materials & Resources for ERP/WMS systems
  • Assisting Value Analysis and Contracting staff with the new product introduction process and product transitions
  • Analyze inventory levels to ensure sufficient quantity to meet customer needs
  • Analyze sales history, seasonal demand and forecast to ensure optimal stocking level based on lean manufacturing guidelines
  • Attend production and inventory meetings as well as internal meetings, including but not limited to, shipping and safety.
  • Generate reports for client management on stockroom operations
  • May provide guidance to lower level or less experienced Inventory Technicians
  • Cycle Count Activity and completion (an inventory auditing procedure where inventory in a specific location is counted on a specified day)
  • Works closely with Operations, Logistics Crew Leader, Finance, and Warehouse Cycle Counters


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related business field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience with minimum 3 years in Inventory Management preferred 5 or more year's related experience
  • ERP/WMS Knowledge and experience-can be on the job but preferably hands on experience
  • Experience working in inventory management preferred
  • Experience working in healthcare desired
  • A minimum of intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • ERP/WMS advanced user
  • Knowledgeable of shipping/receiving and production operations/procedures

Physical Demands:

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling are required frequently. Requires lifting and substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • The worker is subject to environmental conditions. The worker is subject to extreme heat which may include temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour.
  • Typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
