Immediate Opening: Quality Engineer - Metrology

We are seeking a highly skilled, highly motivated experienced Quality Engineer. Candidates should have 5 plus years of experience in Quality Engineering in a high-volume machining environment.

This individual will interact with all levels of the organization while performing the following quality assurance responsibilities: Measurement methodology and programming during Product launches aa well as supporting legacy product, and any other inspection responsibilities required by the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage QA responsible functions of new product launches.

2. Facilitate the cross functional development of metrology methods that conform with the product control plans and work with the NPD Quality Engineer accordingly.

3. Develop inspection instructions and associated documentation to ensure consistent and accurate inspection of products.

4. Coordinate and help facilitate the completion of required Gage R&R's and any necessary actions based on results.

5. Assist with root cause investigations and facilitate the completion of internal/external problem records/corrective actions.

6. Work with suppliers on metrology related issues of products/services.

7. Support the quality inspectors to ensure that metrology processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.

8. Provide recommendations to the QA Manager regarding measurement techniques to both streamline and improve repeatability and reproducibility of inspections.

9. Handle special projects assigned by QA Manager and Director of Quality.

Job Requirements:

Minimum

1. Good command of ANSI Y14.5

2. Deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance interpretation with practical application for functional gaging.

3. CMM programming experience required (Zeiss preferred)

4. Working knowledge in one of the following: ISO 9001:2000, ISO/TS 16949:2002 or ISO 13485

5. Must be able to interpret test results, and be a clear and effective communicator of those to Manufacturing/Engineering personnel.

6. Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.

7. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.

Preferred

1. Experience with OGP/Smart Scope, Keyence, or other vision measuring equipment

2. Training in AIAG disciplines MSA, FMEA, SPC, and PPAP

3. Proficiency using Mini-Tab

4. Certified Quality Technician

5. Experience in milling and/or turning of small to micro sized parts
