Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Classification: Hourly

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Compensation Range $28.00-$32.00 per hour

Starting compensation is based on combination of skills and experience.

Summary of Job

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating activities of Maintenance Technicians. The right individual will have 3-5 years of experience scheduling and planning maintenance in a manufacturing environment. This position will create a work environment contributing to team member morale and motivation to accomplish performance objectives. Communicate with other shifts and peers regarding safety, quality, productivity, staffing, equipment, and continuous improvement activities daily.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Monitoring and managing the maintenance backlog


  • Partners with operations and management team to assist in prioritizing and scheduling of PM work and repairs requests based on anticipated parts delivery dates.


  • Works with Management to create, modify and fine tune equipment PM's


  • Maintain a stringent and robust PM system


  • Kitting for planned pm days


  • Optimizes maintenance and operations resources by building schedules that reduce equipment downtime and effectively utilize resources


  • Estimates maintenance labor hours and materials needed to complete work orders.


  • Ensuring that all work plans are completed, and resource needs are identified


  • Works closely with maintenance management to develop, track, and analyze maintenance data and KPI's


  • Utilize manuals, blueprints and/or electrical schematics to develop maintenance work instructions


  • Manage the equipment Bill of Materials in SAP.
  • Maintain maintenance tool cribs / parts supplies, etc.


  • Prepares requisitions and allocates material to work orders in SAP.


  • Schedule and coordinate outside vendors for repairs and service evaluations.


  • Promoting a safe and compliant work culture


  • Attends daily and weekly scheduling/maintenance meetings


  • Communication with Production pertaining to Maintenance activities


  • Provide purchasing functions for the maintenance department including parts, materials, service contracts, and office supplies


  • Render better service to operations by performing most important jobs first (as determined by operations)


  • Provide a single contact for all in-process, scheduled, and emergency work


  • Champion the Emaint CMMS.


  • Strong analytical skills


  • Provide problem solving and resolution skills for departmental issues


  • Continuous improvement relative to safety, quality, and productivity


  • Ability to work overtime as needed


  • Performs other duties as assigned by management



Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)



  • Prior manufacturing or similar experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Good mathematical skills required.
  • Ability to safely operate a golf cart with trailer in forward and reverse.
  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure and promote a positive teamwork culture.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and document quality readings.
  • Ability to communicate with team members including employees effectively and respectfully on the previous or following shift during shift transition.
  • Knowledgeable about safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environments.
  • Must be safety conscious, able to understand and adhere to all Department and Plant rules, regulations, and notices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
  • Knowledge and experience with Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Professing (SAP) or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems required, or ability to learn.



Environment



  • Non airconditioned, indoor environment. Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Humidity may exceed 80%.
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+.
  • Work around and with manufacturing machinery, exposure to moving equipment.



Position Type



  • Full time, hourly, non-exempt.
  • Overtime per business demand.



Education and Experience



  • A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance clerk type position.
  • Must have stable work history.
