* Insurance Operations Specialist* Job Description
* Monitor, process, report, and document a variety of transactions including suspense, adjustments, premium receipt, invoicing, deduction requests, and delinquencies for customers. * Coordinate with other business areas to ensure accurate premium processing, reporting, billing, and fee disclosure. * Perform thorough in-depth research as needed in support of reconciliations and adjustments of premium. * Manage delinquency process and own customer interactions. * Draft legally defensible contracts via the amendment process for all levels of complexity across all states. * Analyze amendment submission materials to match provisional intent and discuss policy provisions to enhance customer experience. * Proactively communicate sensitive and/or confidential contractual and billing information, and provide solutions in a clear and effective manner. * Align with PAS Program goals, values, and vision. * Provide suggestions for improvements to the new system/processes and engage in future releases. Essential Skills * Intermediate Excel experience including navigating through data sets, re-organizing information, and performing V lookups. * Thorough knowledge of group benefits product offerings and ability to administer plan provisions, rate structures, premium calculations, bill offerings, and delinquency processing. * Strategic and resourceful problem-solving skills for customer issues at all levels of complexity. * Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. * Strong planning, prioritizing, decision-making, and organization skills. * Energy and passion for teamwork and collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. * 1 - 3 years work experience in group employee benefits administration, complex billing administration, premium management. * Insurance experience in areas such as Employee Benefits and Underwriting support. Can work from anywhere in the US and maintain business hours in their time zone. Must have flexibility in work hours during training, as multiple resources will be onboarded and likely trained simultaneously. Contract is through 6/30/25 with the possibility of extension and/or conversion. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Portland, Oregon.
