Director, eCommerce Strategy and Operations

The Director, eCommerce Strategy and Operations will serve as the leader of the eCommerce function within Market Access, supporting GSK's U.S. Pharmaceutical and Vaccines businesses. The Director will oversee GSK's e-Commerce ordering platforms and ensure a customer centric strategy is realized for all order related and revenue cycle operations. The role includes accountability to ensure all transactions are processed timely and comply with Sarbanes Oxley controls. The Director must ensure all service level requirements are met, manage day to day operations and play an active role in project support.

The Director will also be accountable for fostering a performance-based culture, maintaining high quality standards/controls, and ensuring an exceptional customer focused approach with industry leading system support. The Director will seek to understand, anticipate, and translate evolving customer/marketplace e-commerce needs into actionable ordering/e-commerce strategies and tactics. This includes formulating system functionality to support the evolving commerce needs of GSK's direct purchasing customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee GSKDirect.com, eCustomer Solutions (eCS), and Electronic Invoicing Platforms as well as Flu Operations, ensuring system readiness and strategy implementation across multiple customer segments.
  • Partner with Tech, Market Access, Supply Chain, Business Units, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to implement eCommerce technologies that meet customer needs and drive growth while mitigating risk.
  • Lead a team of five (three eCommerce Managers and two Analysts), establishing objectives and promoting a high-performance culture focused on development and engagement.
  • Understand evolving customer and market dynamics to shape the Trade and Distribution eCommerce Strategy and formulate an eCommerce roadmap that aligns with customer processes and preferences while meeting the needs of the business.
  • Conduct data reporting, trending, and metrics analysis on eCommerce customer insights and opportunities to present to and gain alignment from Senior Leadership.
  • Lead eCommerce innovation at an enterprise level, creating digital capabilities to support organizational and customer needs.
  • Manage the development of business requirements, user acceptance testing, and training for various applications supporting Trade and Distribution Operations, ensuring effective communication and resource alignment.
  • Align resources, priorities, and processes to support changing business needs while minimizing defects through standard methodologies and full traceability.
  • Represent GSK at industry conferences and user groups to advocate for new and enhanced system functionality.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities and monitor eCommerce performance metrics for continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree
  • 5+ years' experience in Market Access, Sales and Marketing, Finance /Technical in the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous management experience leading a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA and/or advanced business degree or equivalent.
  • E-Commerce experience withing the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare Industry.
  • Agile Project Management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of analytical and database reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated skills in coaching, developing, and leading people.
  • Experience in vendor and project management.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (ex. BPI, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Experience with risk management, Sarbanes Oxley requirements and managing high impact, compliance driven processes.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
