Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose |
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Student Business Services, the Student Business Services Administrator performs a variety of administrative strategic support services for the Student Loans/Cashier offices. The Student Loan/Cashier's Office is responsible for all receivables and the billing of over millions in tuition and fees annually. The administrator will invoice and assign defaulted accounts to a third-party vendor The administrator is responsible for providing outstanding customer service and maintain office services by organizing office operations and procedures. |
Essential Functions |
- Direct the daily office activities to assure compliance and exceptional customer service.
- Resolve customer service issues and office complaints and assist with tuition payments and questions.
- Independently performs analysis on moderately complex financial services such as researching discrepancies, internal control implications and compliance with internal and external policies.
- Provide oversight and direction for customer service staff and support professionals.
- Counsel students, parents, and staff concerning student financials and higher education charges and account balances.
- Assist in the development of student financials policies and procedures and train staff to remain in compliance.
- Oversee the implementation of all electronic student financials processing.
- Manage all facets of the student financials process for job training and non-credit accounts receivable - Cashier process.
- Assist with verification of compliance with Federal Cash Management Regulatory requirements.
- Perform professional judgment activities that are consistent and comply with program regulations.
- Perform professional judgement to adjust student financial accounts when needed in accordance with the required policy timelines.
- Attend professional development conferences, seminars, and workshops in order to stay current on regulations in the student financials industry.
- Assist with interpreting compliance regulations and help develop policies and procedures. Complete new year/term set-up and run student financials batch processes.
- Respond to, and /or sends emails and other correspondence on behalf of the department.
- Ensures all transactions are processed in compliance with internal and external policies.
- Opening and closing of departments daily.
- Assume overall oversight of the office in the absence of the Associate Director.
- Guide and train student employees including scheduling, assigning, and prioritizing workloads, setting appropriate deadlines, and review work for quality and timeliness.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years of experience in accounting/student financials.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree
- Higher Education experience desired.
- Proficient computer skills in the MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exercises sound judgment especially in handling inquiries from students, parents, and other campus community members.
- Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Infrequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, carrying, pushing/pulling.
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work performed in a typical office environment with the use of computer, phone and office equipment. Duties performed on campus, in person during standard business hours. Occasional overtime and possible weekends may be required to meet business needs or deadlines. Occasional travel to other campuses and required meetings and/or trainings. |
Hiring Range |
$19.58 - $25.94 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
