ADA & Section 1557 Policy Administration: 1.1. Coordinate, monitor and ensure compliance with the ADA and Section 1557. 1.2. Continually review and revise YNHHS policies and procedures surrounding the ADA, Section 1557, and other relevant laws related to discrimination against people with disabilities. 1.3. Facilitate the implementation of the health system?s policies and procedures. 1.4. Serve as to the point of contact for individuals to request auxiliary aids and services, policy modifications and other accommodations. 1.5. Stay abreast of state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines related to disability discrimination, Section 504 and Title II of the ADA by attending regular training and participating in ongoing professional development opportunities. 1.6. Conduct YNHHS Delivery Network (DN) audits to ensure that staff are in compliance with the ADA and Section 1557 requirements. 2. Training & Development: 2.1. Develop and provide training, education and support to staff regarding the ADA and the implementation of relevant policies and procedures. 3. Investigation & Review of complaints and grievances related to 504/ADA: 3.1. Receive and investigate complaints alleging violations of Section 504/ADA and/or discrimination based on disability and assist in providing resolution. 3.2. Receive, review and process grievances. 4. Manage regulatory record-keeping requirements and documentation. 5. Works with Language Services leadership to coordinate implementation of the language access procedures. 6. Works with stakeholders across the care continuum to coordinate implementation of the reasonable modification procedures. Qualifications EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree and/or clinical background preferred. EXPERIENCE Minimum of Three (3) years' experience working with current laws, regulations, and guidelines related to disability in a healthcare setting required. SPECIAL SKILLS Demonstrated leadership skills and effectiveness. Ability to research and interpret regulatory requirements and coordinate and monitor internal responses complaints, audits and investigations. Demonstrate organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills. Ability to prioritize and plan work independently. Ability to interact with all levels of management. Ability and skills to influence personnel through a matrix organization as opposed to line management authority. High level of integrity and trust. Knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office, and Internet Explorer. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess qualities and skills to be a proactive, positive team player. Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and effective time management. Excellent organizational skills. Exercises independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet responsibilities PHYSICAL DEMAND Requires travel to all DNs, Ambulatory Sites and physician offices throughout the system.
