Position Summary
The Microsoft 365 Support Specialist at the School of Medicine is responsible for overseeing the advanced support of Microsoft 365 applications, including Power Apps, Power BI, and Planner, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and security standards in coordination with campus ITS. This role involves identifying and advising on advanced security protocols, conducting regular audits, and generating detailed reports on application usage, security risks, and administrator actions. The specialist will lead comprehensive business analysis and solution design initiatives, translating complex business requirements into effective Microsoft 365 solutions, and providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to support the CIO's vision and departmental strategic plan. Additionally, the specialist will design and deliver advanced training programs and support services for Microsoft 365 users, develop comprehensive training materials, and serve as a subject matter expert, offering high-level support and troubleshooting for complex technical issues. The position also includes performing additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the IT department and supporting the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's and 1-2 years' experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Demonstrated experience application administration and security best practices.
Experience with IT support operations principles including troubleshooting issues with Microsoft 365.
Experience in configuring and enforcing policies and settings related to security compliance.
Ability to plan and manage projects from initiation to implementation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Progressive experience in the field of Information Technology with direct Microsoft 365 management.
Microsoft 365 Administrator Certification.
Experience in a higher education, medical campus, research, and/or healthcare environment.
