YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE We are looking for a Lab Technician in 3688 Kinsman BLVD, Madison, WI 53704 USA. Your mission will be to:
Purpose (Objective): The incumbent prepares sample for processing and maintains documentation of process to facilitate analysis procedures.
Maintain clean laboratory by discarding waste and cleaning and sanitizing countertops, walls, floors, shelves, equipment, sinks, water baths etc using cleaning solvents. Maintain clean laboratory by properly storing chemicals, reagents and supplies. Maintain adequate stock of these materials. Clean and decontaminate equipment, glassware, metal instruments, sinks, water baths, tables, and test panels, using solvents, water, acetone bath, and cloth or hot-air drier, brushes, and rags, etc. Prepare and use cleaning solutions according to specifications. Perform quality control checks such as temperature checks, balance verification or detergent residue testing as required by department leadership. Assist other laboratory personnel performing testing procedures as instructed by department leadership. Maintain equipment, supplies and instrumentation in working order to perform necessary preventative maintenance for operating departments. Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is required to complete job responsibilities. Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process. Ensure a safe working environment for laboratory. Participate in audits. Maintain inventory, rotate supply, discard expired dry, refrigerated and frozen materials and retain as directed by department leadership. Completes assigned tasks under supervision of department leadership, while working with team to accomplish department goals Perform opening and closing duties as assigned department leadership. Clean glassware and other containers and return to laboratory for use. Perform other related duties as needed.
YOUR PROFILE
Knowledge: The incumbent must have a basic knowledge of microbiology to accurately perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results. Profile (required education/qualifications and professional background): High school Diploma or Equivalent required. Work Environment: The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory. Safety equipment of gloves, laboratory coat and eyeglasses may need to be worn depending on the testing process. The incumbent may use the autoclave daily to complete the analysis process. Continuous lifting of analysis materials weighing up to 50 pounds are necessary to transport media materials. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a standing position. The incumbent should be able to detect slight variation in shades of colors. No Previous Lab Experience Required! Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday Start Time: 1030AM End Time: Shift is completed once all samples for the day are processed Pay: $19.50/hr (Concrete Starting Pay) Overtime weekly: 8-10hrs per week, OT hours paid at time and a half **Accepting candidates from all industries manufacturing, production, warehouse, food industry, food service, fast food, or retail**
