Senior Director, Project Management & Process Improvement

    Summary:

    In this role, you will collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives, process improvements, and automation efforts that enhance operational efficiency and performance. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments of internal processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and variability, while prioritizing improvements based on potential impact. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement to sustain momentum, while ensuring that all process improvements align with organizational goals. This role also oversees project management teams, ensuring effective resource deployment and cross-functional collaboration to successfully deliver improvement initiatives within scope, timeline, and budget constraints.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner with Spend Management Business Unit (SMBU) leadership to implement strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency, automation, and standardization.
    • Conduct assessments to identify inefficiencies in internal processes, prioritize improvements, and evaluate impact, feasibility, and required effort.
    • Engage with executive leadership, employees, and key stakeholders to gain buy-in and maintain momentum for operational changes.
    • Collaborate with the VP, Operational Excellence, to develop roadmaps that transform Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) operations and drive member value.
    • Lead and mentor project management teams, fostering skill development, performance, and a high-performing culture.
    • Define, establish, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
    • Manage project resources, balancing priorities to maximize team capacity and efficiency.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations across project lifecycles.
    • Ensure an appropriate level of visibility and transparency for ongoing initiatives within the Operational Excellence team.
    • Establish agile project management policies and practices to drive continuous process improvement across SMBU.
    • Guide the Operational Excellence team in delivering disciplined project management resources to SMBU.
    • Implement standard project management metrics to support all strategic SMBU initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant degree preferred.
    • 10 or more years of relevant experience required.
    • 10 years of healthcare or supply chain experience.
    • 10 years people leadership, preferably in healthcare.
    • Experience working in matrixed / highly cross-functional organizations and teams.
    • Strong expertise in Lean and other process improvement methodologies, with a proven track record of delivering measurable results.
    • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to completion.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changing business needs and priorities.
    • Willingness to travel.

    Estimated Hiring Range:

    At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $223,200.00.

    This position is also incentive eligible.
