Duties include, but are not limited to, performing preventive maintenance inspections, installation support, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on highly complex and intricate medical equipment independent of technical supervision. This individual shall be competent in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of the duties. The individual may serve as a technical advisor to clinical staff in safe operation and use of clinical equipment. This individual contributes to department improvement and development by mentoring other Biomed Techs (I, II & III).This individual builds and maintains positive relationships with customers. The Biomed Tech is the front line employee who is most visible to clinical staff utilizing the patient care equipment included in the Medical Equipment Management Program. At the clinical level, this individual will create the impression carried by the facility clinical staff. Pride and professionalism, as well as technical expertise, must be exhibited at all times for the success of all concerned. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline plus 2 years' experience OR Associate's degree plus 5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education/experience required. 2. High degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity. 3. Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn. 4. Strong written and verbal communications skills. 5. Strong planning and organization, critical thinking and decision-making skills. 6. Strong computer skills (MS Office, CMMS systems). 7. Knowledge of TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA and other applicable standards and regulations required. 8. Knowledge of principles and practices of electronics and biomedical engineering technology as applied to the calibration and repair of biomedical equipment. 9. Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blue prints. 10. Valid driver's license required. 11. Field related technical certification (A+, CBET, CRES, CLES or CCE) preferred. Connect With Us!
