Department Information
The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) is a 300,659 sq. ft. facility located on Ferst Drive, on the West side of campus. The complex is a unique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Campus Recreation provides a premier recreation fitness center, aquatic center, recreation fields, and leadership challenge course for the Georgia Tech community. We offer programming that includes Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness Instruction and Classes, and Outdoor Recreation.

Job Summary

The Wellness Engagement Coordinator will develop and deliver engaging and innovative health and wellbeing programs tailored to the diverse needs of GT's student body across multiple residence halls. This role will involve collaborating with campus departments and community partners to enhance initiatives and manage resources and budgets effectively. Strong problem-solving skills will be essential to ensure successful program execution. Using the 8 dimensions of wellness framework, this position will empower students living in the residential communities to embrace active lifestyles and community engagement.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Develop and instruct innovative health and well-being programs that promote physical activity, active lifestyles, mindfulness, and community engagement, tailored to the diverse needs of the student body across all residence halls and beyond traditional campus recreation settings.

Job Duty 2 -
Collaborate with various campus departments, student leaders, faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance programming initiatives and provide support and expertise.

Job Duty 3 -
Evaluate programs and events to assess their effectiveness and impact on health and well-being within the residence halls and the campus community.

Job Duty 4 -
Manage resources, process requisitions, including budgeting and personnel, to ensure successful program delivery.

Job Duty 5 -
Plan and evaluate marketing strategies for programs in collaboration with the marketing team, ensuring effective communication through diverse channels and mediums.

Job Duty 6 -
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in addressing challenges that arise with minimal supervision.

Job Duty 7 -
Identify and connect students with available resources, programs, practices, and interventions.

Job Duty 8 -
Assist with supervision of instructors who teach for the program.

Job Duty 9 -
This is a highly complex and specialized role. It involves coordinating and instructing health and well- being programs and services and delivering safe, effective well-being programs to the campus community. This position will not have typical office hours and will conduct many of these programs and services across campus at various locations, including but not limited to Residence Halls activity spaces on campus. Work schedule will vary weekly and will be agreed upon by this position and the manager. This position will work primarily in an in-person environment. Opportunities for remote work are available as approved by the supervising manager.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in exercise science, health promotion, recreational studies, physical education, or other health/well-being related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Required Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required within first 60 days of employment

Required Experience
Two to three years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES), Group Fitness and/or Health Coaching from a nationally accredited association

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in exercise science, health promotion, recreational studies, physical education or other health/well-being related field

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
o The ability to work non-traditional hours is expected
o The job requires occasional travel up to 10% or more of the time
o Ability to innovate, inspire, energize, and engage a diverse population of undergraduate
and graduate students

SKILLS
o Exceptional public speaking and engagement skills; strong written, verbal, and group
communication skills
o Experience with building cooperative working relationships with a wide range of students, faculty
and staff
o Experience in the development of new programmatic initiatives in conjunction with other units on
campus
o Knowledge, experience and expertise in recreational programming, fitness programming, nutrition
programming, and competitive/leisure sports programming, mindfulness/meditation programming,
outdoor recreation programming, and team building is preferred

Salary range: $57,000.00-$62,000.00
