Department Information
Specifically, the Center coordinates a range of programs and events throughout the year aimed at educating faculty, students, and staff about LGBTQIA issues, providing safe spaces for LGBTQIA people to build community and explore their identities, and facilitating conversations about LGBTQIA diversity, equity, and inclusion. Center initiatives focus on the values of (a) intersectionality, (b) healing, reconciliation, and liberation, (c) intentional community, and (d) development and futurity.

Job Summary

The Program Coordinator of the LGBTQIA Resource Center is responsible for assisting in the advocacy, outreach, and community building for LGBTQIA people at Georgia Tech. The Program Coordinator will design, implement, and assess programs and events for LGBTQIA community, students, and employees and will lead initiatives that center identity development and community building. Additionally, the position is responsible for marketing and social media engagement. Finally, in collaboration with office staff, the Program Coordinator will collaborate with campus partners to raise awareness, enhance ally skill development, and enhance implementation of LGBTQIA inclusive practices. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Students, faculty and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Students, faculty and staff. This position will supervise: N/A

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Coordinate events and programs for students, faculty, and staff relating to LGBTQIA community, education, and advocacy, including discussion groups, initiatives, and training programs

Job Duty 2 -
Conduct individual student advising and referral appointments

Job Duty 3 -
Conduct program assessments and support assessment efforts for the Center by carrying out data entry and analysis

Job Duty 4 -
Responsible for marketing and social media engagement communications

Job Duty 5 -
Coordinate logistics for education and training programs, including preparing training materials, reserving space, assigning facilitators, and handling program registration

Job Duty 6 -
Recruit, train, and oversee student volunteers

Job Duty 7 -
Represent the Center by presenting and tabling events across campus

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
One to two years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preferred skills include knowledge and experience with program assessment, experience with training and supervising volunteers, and skills using effective use of social media and email marketing

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Student Development, Student Affairs Administration, Higher Educations, Counseling, LGBT Studies, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, or related field

Preferred Experience
Preferred skills include knowledge and experience with program assessment, experience with training and supervising volunteers, and skills using effective use of social media and email marketing

Salary range: $55,000.00 - $58,565.00 (commensurate with experience)

Location: Onsite (Atlanta, GA)

Other Information

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Program Creation. Coordinate events and programs for students, faculty, and staff relating to LGBTQIA community, education, and advocacy, including discussion groups, initiatives, and training programs. The Program Coordinator will provide oversight of Q Chats, Health & Wellness Programs, and Queer Coffeehouse.
  • Individual Student Support. Conduct individual student advising and referral appointments.
  • Program Evaluation and Assessment. Conduct program assessments and support assessment efforts for the Center by carrying out data entry and analysis.
  • Communications. Responsible for marketing and social media engagement.
  • Education and Training. Coordinate logistics for assigned education and training programs
  • Volunteer Coordinator. Recruit, train, and oversee student volunteers.
  • Represent the Center by presenting and tabling events across campus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
