Compass Oncology is looking for a Temporary Medical Scribe to join our team at our East Cancer Clinic in NE Portland, OR. You would be accompanying one of our top-notch physicians at our clinic as they conduct their clinical responsibilities. Utilizing our Electronic Medical Record software, you would take detailed notes on any patient interaction, assist in the generation of referral letters, and other administrative tasks to help our clinical team provide the best service to our patients. This position is fast paced and requires an individual that has a keen eye for details. The ideal candidate will have a combination of passion and precision, as well as the mentality of putting the patient above all else. If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!

Employment Type: Full-Time for a duration of 3 months; 32 hours per week, 4 days a week: Monday-Thursday (Friday's off work).

Location: East Cancer Center (Portland, OR) 5050 NE Hoyt St, Portland OR 97213

Salary Range: $18.90-$28.73 Per Hour

**Final offer amounts are determined by a review of the candidate's applicable experience and qualifications, as well as, internal employee equity considerations.

Job Scope:

Scribes will work directly with physicians as they are seeing patients throughout the day. Though based in Portland, Oregon, this position may require travel to our other office locations on an as needed basis. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical staff.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Follows physician through his or her workday and charts patient encounters in real-time using medical office's Electronic Health Record and existing templates.
  • Generate referral letters for physicians, manage and sort medical documents within the EHR system, and assist with e-prescribing.
  • May handle data management tasks for physicians in real-time,
  • Applies knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology to the transcription of proofreading of medical dictation from originators.
  • Transcribes physician dictation to include notes, letters, history and physical reports, hospital dismissal/interval notes, sign-out lists, and other physician correspondence or typing as requested.
  • Clarifies dictation that is unclear or incomplete, seeking assistance as necessary

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors Degree or other healthcare related coursework including anatomy, physiology and/or medical terminology preferred.

Experience/Training:

  • Minimum (1) year of applicable experience or graduate from a Scribe training program, highly desired.
  • Personable, effective at multitasking, high regard for excellent customer service, and team oriented
  • Excellent computer skills and typing proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
