Job purpose:



  • With expanding of new Fuel Cell application, AHM will accelerate Carbon Neutral business. Advanced Power Unit and Energy in AHM R&D is tasked executing demonstration to clarify technology and business potential and make trigger for new business with leveraging fuel cell system which is being developed at Honda R&D in Japan. This job contributes not only to Honda new business customer but also to Carbon Neutral achievement at AHM with applying to internal facilities.
  • The Fuel Cell Integration Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the integration and optimization of fuel cell systems within commercial & passenger vehicles and other applications like stationary power generators and construction machinery.


Key accountabilities:



  • Design and develop fuel cell systems and interface components for integration into vehicles or stationary applications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate fuel cell systems with existing vehicle platforms or systems.
  • Develop system architectures and layouts for fuel cell integration.
  • Perform simulations and modeling of fuel cell systems to predict performance, efficiency, and durability.
  • Analyze data from simulations to optimize the design and integration process.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate fuel cell systems under various operating conditions.
  • Analyze test data and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the integration process.
  • Work closely with testing teams to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, including suppliers and partners, to ensure timely and successful integration of fuel cell systems.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Create detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and integration procedures.
    • Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.


  • Ensure that fuel cell systems meet all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and advancements in fuel cell technology.


Qualifications, experience and skills:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in fuel cell technology, propulsion systems integration, or related areas (or equivalent experience)..
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
  • Experience with fuel cell testing and validation processes.
  • Proficiency in system integration and engineering principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid knowledge of fuel cell & hydrogen systems, with focus on mechanical components design, development and validation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in the automotive or aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of electric powertrains and hybrid systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards related to fuel cells and hydrogen systems.
