About this Position:

Project Lead role responsible for external and internal strategic communication activities, supplier relationship survey and roundtables, and center/BU wide projects. Develop, manage, and communicate PSCC/HDMA story lines, creates content, and prepares messages for Purchasing and Supply Chain Center (Center Lead, Business Unit Lead, Division Lead and Department Lead), as well as Honda executive management).

Collaborates across centers, business units, divisions and departments to create presentation content and complete Center Level projects. Leads major purchasing and supply chain strategic projects and initiatives. Responsible for guiding leadership and the organization in establishing a strategic direction and objectives, along with creating long-term strategic and business development plans. Identifies the company's strengths, weaknesses, and business opportunities. Executes defined activities for strengthening the company's competence.

Responsibilities include:



  • Create, develop and maintain procedures and flows to monitor Honda's PSCC external communication strategy to our supply base. Project leader for all supplier communication, messages, developing consensus with key leaders and speaker on key message points:

    • Development of Yrly supplier conference message, content, speaker outline and graphics development.
    • Purchasing Summit: development of key message and content, as well as prepping PSCC Leadership
    • Bi-Annual Top Executive Meetings: Development of agenda, speakers, and message. Develop contact for key speakers, collaborating across the AHM and HDMA organization.
    • Monthly Supplier Webinars: Development of agenda, speakers and message. Develop content for key speakers.


  • Establish, develop and maintain contact with public and private organizations (MEMA, Plant Moran, S&P, etc.) for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas, including best practices sharing.

    • Proj Lead for Plant Moran for yrly Supplier Relationship Survey. Provide input to Plante Moran on surver and distribute results with Honda.
    • Develop content for MEMA yrly meeting and Honda message.
    • Lead and create process to identify external business conditions.
    • Analyse and monitor industry activity, understanding other OEM goals. Maintain knowledge of Honda business direction and New Model launches, as well as overall automotive industry.
    • Devise methods and procedures to increase engagement and collaboration, as well as active participation in cross industry initiatives.


  • Project Lead for associate communication within center. Create, develop and provide message for leadership communication (i.e. Associate Communication Meetings/Townhall. Support/lead annual Basic Information Survey submitted to Purchasing Global Office (HM)
  • Management and oversight of annual budget and budget preparation; development of strategy and establishment of department/division direction

    • Establish and manage the unit budget based on HDMA's overall strategy and direction


  • Mentor associates within group on problem solving, procedures, and fostering development



Who we are seeking:

Required Experience:



  • 8+ yrs experience (depending on education)



Required Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Procurement Management, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience



Other job-specific skills:



  • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of project management, strong problem solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with ability to communicate with all levels of management



Additional Position Factors:



  • Office base, Hybrid work style (60% In Office/40% Remote)
  • Limited travel
  • Open office environment with moderate level of noise and activity.
