Job Purpose

The CFO is responsible for developing budgetary and forecasting targets as well as interpreting and reporting financial results to various parties consisting of executive management, board of directors, committees as well as auditors and regulators. The CFO monitors financial performance, economic conditions as well as regulatory changes and competitive changes in order to recommend needed changes to business strategies and operations. The CFO oversees Treasury and Cash Management functions in conjunction with Asset Liability Management responsibilities to ensure the Credit Union is able to effectively manage interest rate, credit and liquidity requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee daily operational activities of Accounting & Finance Department
  • Direct annual budget preparation along with monthly financial/statistical result reporting with budget variance analysis
  • Oversee daily cash and treasury management activities
  • Management of Allowance of Credit Losses (ACL) under CECL methodology
  • Asset Liability Management Mode
  • Investment Portfolio Management

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • 10 - 15 years of work experience in a financial institution
  • Direct knowledge of Asset Liability Management (ALM) and investment strategies and processes
  • Knowledge of Profitstar ALM software a plus
  • Working knowledge of financial transaction processing systems such as Epysis a Jack Henry & Associates solution
  • CPA and/or MBA highly desirable
  • Knowledge of ALM theory and strategies
  • Ability to direct the development and preparation of an organization's annual operating plan
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with external auditors and regulators
  • Ability to develop and lead accounting and financial staff
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
