About this Position:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for lineside Quality Assurance. The team consists of production staff quality (PSQ) and quality check route (QCR) associates for their line. Supervision and development of these associates. You would also be responsible for customer plant quality problem analysis including prompt investigation using a methodical approach to develop countermeasures with speed and sound decision making. Pro-active quality improvement assignments will also be a key focal point for this position. The Quality Assurance Specialist will develop, implement, oversee and communicate countermeasure activity for quality issues impacting our customers. Leading, product analysis & decision making, communicating, negotiating and encouraging action across their Engine and Sub-assembly line are key functions of this position. The ability to interact with all levels of management throughout AEP is also a requirement.

Responsibilities include:



  • Responsible for proposing lineside quality decisions related to non-conforming product through problem analysis. Understand customer conditions and the impact related to the decisions they are making. The impact of their decisions will directly affect the quality of our customer plants and/or our final customers.
  • Propose countermeasure plan for customer plant & engine pull defects.
  • Train and develop PSQ to feedback to PH and QSD trouble related to supplied parts
  • In the event of a quality issue, Responsible to make decisions on quality containment and identify first good parts.
  • Develop improvement ideas on difficult processes to prevent further outflow of defects.
  • Responsible to close quality issues through the analysis steps, data collection, summarization and presentation of results.
  • As quality issues arise, evaluate the situation, determine prioritization such as urgent, high risk, and develop special projects as needed.
  • Proactive business plan project execution, focused on quality improvement activity to achieve and improve KPI's.
  • Develop and report quality improvement activity at monthly, quarterly and year-end progress report timings.
  • Leading and developing the PSQ and QCR positions
  • Attend the daily communication meeting for your line, set prioritization of activities, and communicate at the Quality Group morning meetings.
  • Evaluate database tracking & spreadsheet information to ensure data is up to date.



Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:



  • 0-6 years of experience based on education


Required Education:



  • Bachelors or associates degree in a related field; or equivalent relevant job experience.


Desired skills:



  • Experience in PDCA, problem analysis and countermeasure development.
  • Understanding of Honda quality systems and flow.


Additional Position Factors:



  • 70% Manufacturing Environment
  • 30% Office Environment
  • 5-10 Hours OT per week
  • Able to work off shifts, adjusted shifts, shutdowns, and weekends.
  • Able to travel short/long periods both internationally and locally for quality observations and investigations
