Organizational Unit Overview
TEDI BEAR Children's Advocacy Center is part of the Department of Pediatrics and accredited by National Children's Alliance to provide 1) comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children who have been referred because of suspected abuse and/or neglect; 2) a resource for professionals in eastern North Carolina responsible for the protection and safety of children; 3) child abuse education and prevention to professionals, the community, students, and; 4) promoting collaboration and providing training and guidance to advance child abuse knowledge as well as promote the interagency and multidisciplinary response to child abuse.
Job Duties
This position reports directly to the Business Services Coordinator but works closely with the Tedi Bear Director and Clinic Managers. This position is responsible for general administration support for three Tedi Bear clinics which includes various team members including the Medical Director, other medical providers, Director, Social Workers, Child Life Specialists, Clinical Therapists, Outreach Coordinator, Prevention Educators, and residents and students. At times this position may interact with outside vendors, DSS and the courts to obtain needed information for processing invoices and payments. Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to answering telephone calls; maintaining physician calendars; assisting with faculty/staff recruitment; ordering supplies; processing monthly vendor and court invoices; follow-up on outstanding vendor payments; processing travel requests and reimbursements; processing staff procard reconciliation reports; maintain and submit expense documentation to support grant invoices, scheduling, recording, and distributing meeting minutes; collecting monthly time and effort forms; submitting faculty leave requests; approving faculty time in Kronos; and any other basic office duties. This position will serve as a backup for patient registration which would require proficiency in EPIC (electronic health records system) and NCAtrak database: provide daily reminder telephone calls to therapy patients and monitor reception area. Proficiency and efficiency in performance of work tasks are always expected.

CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT.

Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program ( ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b, 457). This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System ( TSERS). Additionally, this position offers multiple voluntary options for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance as well as various supplemental plans including Critical Illness, Flexible Spending Accounts, Cancer, and Disability.

Knowledge of ECU travel and purchasing systems, Experience with EPIC EHR. Computer skills and experience with Microsoft programs including Outlook, Excel and Word desirable.
