Position Summary

Performs a wide variety of clerical support services to facilitate the efficient operation of the High School, while maintaining confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collects all deposits and processes all disbursements for all internal accounts.
  • Assists school activity group treasurers, advisors, coaches, directors with adhering to internal accounting procedures.
  • Prepare monthly accounting reports.
  • Prepares year-end journal entries, assist in various year-end closing processes, prepares audit work papers.
  • Prepares and distributes checks as needed on a weekly
  • Record and maintain accurate records of student book fines and other debts to the school, i.e. NSF checks and payment plans.
  • Communicates with families and students regarding outstanding fees owed to the school.
  • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, computers, printers, calculators, facsimile machines, voicemail systems, and telephones.
  • Communicates with customers, employees, students, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information and address complaints.
  • Manages PaySchools Events Fees setup and provides reports to staff/coaches/club advisors
  • Provides POS for staff/coaches/club advisors and process POS for payment

Education:

This position requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:



  • One years of related experience required, two years preferred.


Knowledge:



  • Knowledge of basic math, required.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping, required.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services, required.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures, required.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, required.



Abilities:



  • Ability to work independently with many interruptions, required.
  • Ability to learn bookkeeping procedures, required.
  • Ability to read and interpret district policies, guidelines, handbook and government regulations, required.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, required.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn different software systems, required.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast paced work environment, required.
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with teachers, community, students and staff, required.

Word processing, Advanced spreadsheet software programs, Keyboarding, Basic Math, Alpha Filing, Customer Service, Proofreading, Advanced PowerSchool, Bookkeeping, Bank Reconciliation, Bank Deposits and Advanced AS400 are required.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
