St. Ann's Community is currently looking for a dynamic Nurse Educator for our incoming talent on the Portland campus. The primary purpose of this job is to develop and deliver educational training to prepare students for the CNA exam and to provide quality care to our elders. While not in active NATP training cohort, your job also includes, developing and coordinating educational programs, including facility-wide mandatory in-services and conduct orientation to ensure nursing staff are provided the knowledge and skills practice to deliver care meeting St. Ann's standards.

Job Description:
- Conduct hands- on clinical training sessions including simulations related to Long Term Care
- Assist in developing curriculum for nurse training programs in cooperation with other faculty
- Assess students' performance throughout the programing, offering constructive feedback aimed at improving and supporting growth.
- Provide continuous support, mentoring, and educational encouragement
- Creating lesson plans to reach defined goals
Assess the educational needs of current and future staff in order to plan education programs to enhance their
- capability to meet the needs of current and future Residents.
- Research new approaches to geriatric nursing practice, identify areas to enhance practice standards and plan education programs to enhance staff capability.
- Plan and conduct nursing orientation programs (classroom, clinical and competency evaluation)
- Develop, conduct and evaluate educational programs for all levels of nursing staff.
- Enhance skill levels of staff referred for remediation
- Coordinate educational programs within the facility.
- Coordinate approved student group experience within the Nursing Dept.
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
- Network with other Long Term Facilities and utilize community resources to meet staff development needs of Facility.
- Participate in various committees within St. Ann's as assigned.
- Conduct programs and coordinate documentation needed for recertification maintenance for certification of CNA's
- Assist in monitoring the equipment and supply needs of the department.
- Interpret departmental policies and procedures to staff.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and in-services to continue professional growth.
- Follow established safety standards in the performance of all duties.
- Three or more years experience in the delivery of education and training programs in an industry environment (healthcare, business, banking, etc.) or in an equivalent training/classroom environment.
- Previous experience in clinical capacity highly preferred.
- Prior clinical EHR training experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong teaching skills that have been demonstrated on various projects, particularly related to healthcare a plus.
Candidate Requirements:
- Current/valid NYS RN License required
- Experience in adult education
