The Finance Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Dean's Financial Team to support the financial operations for the Jindal School of Management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing intermediate-level professional financial management and analysis of internal and external data, and various department process support.
The ideal candidate is:
a self-starter, someone who is detail oriented; can meet deadline-oriented tasks, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience monitoring budgets or an interest in learning. Should be organized with strong analytical skills, and able to respond to shifting priorities. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree and four years of general office, accounting or business related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
Preferred Education and Experience |
- Ability to work independently, including task coordination and decision-making, as well as in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in advanced functions of the full Microsoft Office Suite, emphasizing Microsoft Excel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Manage chart of accounts - Monitor cost centers, periodically review cost center attributes, make updates to dept/fund/function codes as needed, review balances, and periodically close and inactivate unused cost centers.
- Verifying payroll distribution reports for monthly employees; communicates errors to Payroll and Financial Team, follows up to ensure timely resolution.
- Prepares IDTs, Budget Journals Transfers and Budget Journals.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and transaction tracking.
- Monitor and review eProcurement requisitions and assist with problem resolution.
- Provide guidance to all levels of the Staff/Faculty on both University and Departmental policies.
- Run reports in Peoplesoft/Orion/OBF to support SFO on various projects, including compiling data for annual surveys.
- One Card Process Support.
- Assist with Scholarship processing.
- Assist with Staff/Adjunct Hiring.
- Attend University HR, Payroll, Budget, Procurement and Finance meetings to stay informed on changes in policies and procedures.
- Additional projects and duties as assigned.

Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly).
Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
