What You'll Be Doing:
Maintain inventory within Assembly, ensuring accurate demand signals pass through to planning and purchasing. Work within a designated sphere, to ensure maximum production throughout the department. Collaborate with engineering value streams to facilitate component change overs related to NPI and EOL projects. Proactively escalates issues to the correct value stream, planning, purchasing, or leadership chain. Mitigate quality risks, by ensuring only needed parts are available to the line at any time.
- Execute current inventory delivery systems as designed and work cooperatively to evolve system over time, to maximize profitable throughput.
- Conduct regular cycle counting activities and use specialized knowledge of assembly workflows to ensure the right corrective action is taken following cycle count.
- Complete routine material transactions including sub-transfers, scrap, move orders, repair jobs "to move", ad hoc inventory adjustments and miscellaneous transactions.
- Assist with Kanban maintenance including scaling up or down Kanban inventory to meet demand and support value streams during component or SKU end of life and NPI.
- Assist ME Techs with isolation of defective material
- Complete transactions as needed to support QDR process
- Receive incoming packaging material.
- Deliver packaging from 'internal warehouse' to line, and complete necessary sub-transfer transaction to maintain visibility on material flow and consumption.
- Support Kanban inventory processes.
- Refill chemicals and greases and provide supplies as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience You'll Need:
- Three or more years of material handling, assembly, or other relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Leupold & Stevens' materials handling areas as well as the Company's material flow and replenishment systems.
- Advanced math skills including proficiency with alphanumeric sequences.
- Demonstrated ability to audit FIFO and FIFO practices.
- Highly skilled on a variety of material handling tasks and equipment types after cross-training. Ability to lead and support transfer and sub-transfer activities.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to set an example for others with regard to multi-tasking, prioritizing work load, showing initiative, meeting quality standards and providing superior customer service.
- Strong continuous improvement orientation. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, provide leadership within the workgroup and back up leads or supervisors as necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently set an example for other in all Core Value areas.
- Proficiency with company approved software, office, and warehouse equipment to complete job-related tasks
- Basic excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to set an example for others with regard to attendance, punctuality, and performing work activities in a manner that is consistent with Company policy.
Physical Demands:
Work takes place in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and chemicals. Ability to use PPE. Ability to stand or sit for long periods; Good manual dexterity, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to use full range of motion. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds with assistance.
