Your Opportunity

Starting Salary: $18.50

Assists in many areas within the site. Tasks include but not limited to ADU sanitation, transload, groundskeeping, as well as assistance with emergency animal removal as needed. The employee may operate mowers, tractors, yard jockey trucks, and other farm equipment as directed along with various other tasks suited for maintaining an ADU facility.

Core Responsibilities
  • Responsible for following biosecurity paths when driving from site to site to pickup mortality.
  • Working in all phases of Sanitation including but not limited to maintaining biosecurity by cleaning and sanitizing all ADU vehicles and equipment using high volume/high pressure spraying equipment within scheduled turnaround times. Performing interior detailing and cleaning of all ADU vehicles and equipment as needed or requested. Keeping truck wash area clean and free of safety hazards. Prepares and maintains sanitation service records.
  • Assemble ADU containers as needed, load containers for onsite pick up customers using forklift.
  • Assist in emergency spill clean ups with mortality removal - Assist with grounds and facility upkeep by cutting grass, taking out trash, and cleaning inside and outside the facility when required.
  • Follow the safety requirements of the Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS).
  • Abide by all company policies, procedures and guidelines as directed.
  • Flexibility with a willingness to change plans according to the direction of leadership.
  • Work as a team player by accomplishing daily department work requirements and goals.
  • Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures.
  • Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
  • Read and understand the company's emergency notification process and how it applies to their specific worksite.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to do hard physical labor.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to follow instructions and deal with standardized situations.
  • Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed.
  • Willingness to be on call when needed.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklift and standard farm/utility equipment such as but not limited to bobcat, tractor, lawnmower, weed eater etc. Operate high pressure water sprayer.
  • Must hold a current NC Driver's License.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to walk an average of 2 - 4 miles per day, occasionally up to 5 or 6.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a limited basis.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in situations two feet above the floor in a leaned-over or squatted position.
  • Must be able to operate a high-pressure washing system.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must be able to tolerate blood, animal dander, manure, dust, odors, and frequently noisy conditions.
