Purpose of Position
The Dispatcher exercises joint flight release responsibilities with the flight crew. The Dispatcher is responsible for planning the safe and efficient operation in accordance with federal aviation regulations and company flight manuals. The Dispatcher preplans daily flight operations and informs appropriate personnel concerning changes in flight status. The Dispatcher validates suitability of crew and aircraft for each scheduled departure. The Dispatcher coordinates the optimum utilization of aircraft and crews during irregular operation(s). The Dispatcher is responsible to stay informed of the status of all assigned flights during their shift. The Dispatcher exercises joint release responsibility with the pilot in command within the operational control system to safely plan and release each flight. Tasks and Responsibilities
