POSITION TYPE:Seasonal, part-time WAGE RANGE: $17.00 to $19.00 / hour SUPERVISORY:No SUPERVISED BY: Housekeeping Manager and Laundry Lead POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning/preparing linen supply for lodge room and condo unit occupancy in a manner that ensures guests clean and attractive accommodations. Responsible for inventory of linens and laundry supplies. Responsible for logging information for Lost & Found within lodging. To empty laundry totes to floors needed as carts fill. Emptying the laundry chutes as it fills keeping an organized workspace by keeping laundry separated and washed day to day. Applicants should be 18 years or older and should be able to pass a Driver Verification background check. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Operate laundry processing equipment at a level of proficiency resulting in acceptable cleanliness and supply of linens. Deliver processed linens to housekeeping storage rooms, stocking them in a neat and orderly manner. Regularly clean laundry processing equipment and laundry facility. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager/Laundry lead, i.e., vacuuming hallways, cleaning public bathrooms or other areas, and training new employees. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities is a must. Maintain security for guest and hotel by following all security and safety regulations, i.e., cleaning work area, removing all linens from dryers and turning off all equipment a the end of work day, JOB SPECIFICATIONS: (Minimum age to operate equipment is 18) SKILLS:Knowledge of cleaning procedures EDUCATION:High School diploma or equivalent preferred EXPERIENCE:One year work experience preferred LICENSE:Valid driving license required PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position demands combined walking/standing/kneeling for up to 6 hours per shift with breaks provided. Lifting: frequently, up to 25 lbs.; rarely, up to 35 lbs. Squatting, kneeling, bending: frequently; Reaching above shoulder level: frequent; Climbing/twisting: rarely; Hands: grasping, pushing/pulling of carts; Feet: foot control occasionally for vehicles and vacuums. Worksite: 95% inside; 5% outside, exposed to all temperatures and moisture. Hazards: cleaning chemicals and snow/ice. Sensory skills required: vision, hearing, touching and speech. MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Vacuums, extractors, cleaning chemicals, laundry washing and drying machines, 2-way radios, and, possibly company vehicles. JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: Extreme; much contact and decision-making responsibilities interacting with guests and the Housekeeping team. Must use initiative and judgment when dealing with staff and guests. Must use discretion in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager and Laundry Lease. |
