STV currently has an opening for an Assistant Resident Engineer to work with our northeast PM/CM group. This position will be in our New York, NY office or onsite at the local client offices. This position will assist the Resident Engineers with oversight of all assigned work to ensure that it is managed in accordance with established Construction Management Division (CMD) standards, and effectively coordinated with client facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and managing change orders, agreements, estimates, schedules, and reports.
  • Support the scheduling and performance of quality assurance and special inspections as per contract specifications and the NYC Building Code, ensuring documentation compliance for occupancy permits.
  • Monitor worksite safety and ensure compliance with all OSHA standards and contractor Health and Safety Plans (HASP).
  • Facilitate the timely submission and approval of all submittals, schedules, insurance, and contract requirements by relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefings and reports for CMD meetings.
  • Respond promptly to facility and customer service inquiries, addressing client concerns with professionalism.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in construction management, with preference for experience in concrete (FRP), structural steel, asphalt paving, underground utilities, and core/shell building construction (including MEP systems).
  • Proficiency in preparing and maintaining project documentation and records.
  • Valid driver's license and completion of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with NYC Building Code and other applicable city and state codes.
  • Desired experience in design or construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6, Expedition/Contract Manager, and e-Builder.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Compensation Range:

$66,768.17 - $89,024.22
