The Space Environment and Weather Programs (SEWP) directorate is the lead FFRDC working with SSC/SNSW branch for acquisition of DOD Space Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) and Space Weather programs. Members of SEWP provides technical assessment and mission assurance for EO/IR Weather System (EWS), EO/IR Weather System Geostationary (EWS-G), Weather System Follow-on: Microwave (WSF-M) and several other missions across the acquisition lifecycle. The SNSW branch engages with multiple SBEM stakeholders such as NOAA and DOD Weather Centers (557 Weather Wing (WW), Fleet Numerical Meteorological and Oceanographic Center (FNMOC)). The successful candidate will provide mentorship and guidance to staff new to the SEWP team and the SSC/SNSW program office. The candidate will have experience with the acquisition efforts of both EWS and WSF-M programs. What You'll Be Doing
Work Model This is an on-site position based at the Los Angeles Air Force Base. This is a Casual Employment position. Casual employment is normally for fewer than 20 hours a week, usually non-continuous, irregular, and infrequent. Casual employment must be less than 1,000 paid hours in any calendar year.
