Zayo is seeking a dynamic and proactive Corporate Communications Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications team. Our Corporate Communications Specialist will focus on external communications, including media relations, press releases, blog content, and supporting executive visibility. Our Corporate Communications Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to craft compelling narratives that reinforce our brand, elevate our executives' thought leadership, and engage our external audiences.

The Corporate Communications Specialist will also manage communications projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with broader marketing initiatives. This role requires excellent writing skills, media savvy, and can project manage to drive seamless execution of communication plans.

*We're open to this position working in a hybrid capacity out of our Denver, CO office (1401 Wynkoop).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, pitch story ideas, and manage press inquiries to secure positive coverage.

  • Press Releases and Media Alerts: Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media alerts, and public-facing documents to promote product launches, company news, and events.

  • Content Development: Write, edit, and publish blog posts, articles, and other content that strengthens our brand and positions the company as an industry leader.

  • Executive Communications: Partner with senior leaders to develop thought leadership content, including bylined articles, op-eds, and talking points for industry events.

  • Project Management: Oversee communications projects from initiation to completion, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and alignment with company goals.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, social media, and product teams to ensure messaging consistency and maximize reach.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field

  • At least 3 years of experience in corporate communications, PR, media relations, or a similar role, with demonstrated project management capabilities.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a portfolio showcasing press releases, blogs, and other communications pieces.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines, with a track record of successful project execution.

  • Strong ability to build and maintain media relationships.

  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in telecommunications or high tech.

  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello) and SEO principles.

Base Pay Range: $56,300 - $75,050 USD/annually, commensurate with experience.
