Georgia-Pacific is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Dry End Continuous Improvement Manager. This is a remote, home-based position in the US with travel to our Lumber facilities across the Southeast. The individual will primarily be responsible for leading a team whose focus is to optimize the performance of the assets within all lumber facilities, with primary focus on high value gap closure efforts at the platform and individual mill levels. The CI Leader will accomplish this through building both plant level and remote capabilities to improve and sustain overall Asset Health and operational performance. The successful candidate will understand the facilities' performance and partner with the site teams to develop strategies to improve and sustain. What You Will Do * Through the application of PBM, lead a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) in our divisional CI organization that builds capability and sustainability at the plants through gap closure, increasing site level capability, and assist in the building robust monitoring and response systems. * Must be able to lead knowledgeable and experienced SME's while influencing and working closely with plant and corporate personnel to identify opportunities and create value for the stakeholders. * Must be able to understand the application of technology within a facility while at the same time identify and provide technical capability for site personnel. * Support of process operations, through both the application of the process control systems and general troubleshooting of the processes. * Champion the growth of analytics and new technologies to solve problems and improve performance across the network of plants. * Use data to identify opportunities and prioritize work at the facilities. * Collaborate with other capabilities (DPO, Reliability, Engineering, etc) to support and deploy strategies that result in increased operational efficiencies. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Ten (10) or more years' of experience in working in manufacturing operations with increasing responsibility for plant performance * Three (3) or more years' experience in driving continuous improvement efforts at the departmental level. * Experience in analyzing process data to optimize equipment performance. * Travel is expected in this position as needed, >50%, at times. What Will Put You Ahead * Demonstrated success at the Superintendent level or higher in a lumber or wood products manufacturing facility. * Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering * Understanding of reliability best practices, process modelling and process controls * Experience managing projects in LEAN manufacturing environments.
