The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Financial Manager, the Financial Coordinator will provide financial processing and operational support to the Institute finance unit, Biomarkers Core Lab, the Clinical Research Resource (CRR), and Bionutrition Lab of the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. The position will be the lead point of contact for Irving Institute Core billing. Responsibilities Reconciliation and Financial Approval
- Review and approve financial transactions including core and grant related invoice and expenditure payments, requisitions, purchase orders, interdepartmental invoices, travel and business reimbursements via concur, expenditure corrections, and journal entries.
- Assists in reconciling payroll accounting across the Institute.
- Serves as back up in executing accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and p-card transactions
Research Cores Financial Operations
- Create invoices, bill users for services, collect and process payment for all Irving Institute Cores (Biomarkers, CRR, Bionutrition) in a timely manner and in compliance with CUIMC service center policy
- Works as main financial contact in ilabs operations software for biomarkers billing
- Serves as the lead financial contact for Irving Institute Core users and faculty/staff across campus; investigates service discrepancies in billing should they arise
- Assist in preparation of cost analysis, rate applications, project cost estimates for end users of Irving Institute Cores
- Maintain tracking sheet for all Irving Institute Core service contracts, work with lab directors and department procurement to ensure no lapse in service
- Monitor expenditures and recoveries actuals compared to budget for Irving Institute Cores, project year-end spending and provide adjustment recommendations as needed
- Assist with preparation of fiscal budgets and budget analysis
- Prepare reports and materials and investigates issues as needed under the direction of the Senior Manager
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel and Word).

- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and successfully within a deadline driven, multi-tasking operating environment. Ability to handle multiple projects at increasing levels of complexity and demonstrate sound judgment in managing time, prioritizing, and decision-making.
- Strong analytic skills, accuracy, and attention to detail required. The position calls for the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines, function independently, and to exercise discretion. Must possess the ability to move from one project to another with ease. Requires the ability to complete assignments and tasks independently as well as work effectively as part of a team at various levels.
