Position Summary The Tire Distribution Center Manager I has overall responsibility for the management of a tire and parts distribution center operation in the Service network. The position is responsible for execution of processes and procedures that create the best use of assets to ensure that we have the most effective distribution network to improve fill rate accuracy, customer service and profitability. This position directs all aspects of a distribution operation including merchandise inventory, shipping and receiving, and maintenance of facilities as well as ensures timely deliveries to maximize sales. Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage system
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred
- 5 - 7 years of experience in supply chain or operation management is required; auto parts or tire experience is preferred
- 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience is required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
- Excellent management and leadership skills
