What you'll do

This role is needed to lead a broad scope of enterprise applications (engineering tools, automation, enterprise knowledge mgmt. and AI/ML based enterprise search application, Cloud, Collaboration. Infrastructure, Service Management), ensuring alignment with strategic objectives of consolidation following M&A activities, integration, cloud-first approach, and improving engineering and employee productivity and experience.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Enterprise Applications strategy, ensuring alignment with Viasat's broader goals while balancing the needs of stakeholders and internal customers.
  • Drive the transformation of technology architecture to support company goals, building scalable platform solutions and customizing best-in-class software products, keeping abreast of industry trends
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to secure buy-in and support for the overall enterprise applications strategy.

Operational Excellence

  • Cultivate a data-driven culture within the Enterprise Applications team by monitoring and demonstrating effectiveness of initiatives, delivered value, and ensuring on track to deliver ROI
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of current-state and future-state technology roadmaps aligned with approved infrastructure/cloud technologies and strategic priorities.
  • Ensure services meet the SLA, uptime, scalability, self-service, integration needs of the enterprise

Technical Solutions & Partnerships

  • Responsible for the high-level design and implementation of integrations across the application ecosystem, partnering effectively with business users, engineers, application developers, and vendors.
  • Partner with key business sponsors and executive stakeholders, product owners to deliver monthly and quarterly business reviews that clarify roadmaps, highlight successes, or address areas for improvement
  • Provide thought leadership and clear technical direction to the team to deliver results and business value.

The day-to-day

  • Meeting with team members to review ongoing projects and provide guidance
  • Collaborating with business unit leaders to understand their needs and requirements
  • Presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Evaluating new technologies and architectures and methodologies to enhance capabilities
  • Addressing service impacting issues, risks, implementing improvements
  • Mentoring and developing team members' skills

What you'll need

  • Experienced Leader: With 10 years of Enterprise Applications experience, including 7+ years leading and managing orgs of at least 30 people at a fast-growing tech company. Experience with Product ownership and experience leading DevOps teams highly preferred.
  • Change Agent: Possessing excellent change management skills and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technology Expert: Experienced with hosted and SaaS solutions, cloud architecture, and Enterprise collaborating platforms, engineering tools, automations
  • Integration Specialist: With hands-on experience with and a track record of building a scalable and cost-effective integrations and automation strategy.
  • Strategic & Operational: Demonstrating the ability to lead global applications organizations, manage vendor relationships, build and maintain budgets, and ensure compliance across various audit surfaces.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Travel 25% if not local to Carlsbad, CA.

Salary range

$198,400.00 - $302,600.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $246,400.00- $357,200.00/ annually
