Position Summary |
The Testing Support Specialist is an integral part of the Accessibility and Testing department and reports to the Assistant Director. This position is primarily responsible for providing professional and courteous service to students and customers. This includes working at the front desk answering phone calls, answering customers' questions, checking them in, and scheduling appointments. Additionally, this position administers tests, assists with group placement testing, and monitors test security for exams in small and large group settings. In collaboration with staff in other areas of the department, this position will cross-train to provide coverage in various other roles in University and Community Testing and to assist during peak times in other areas. |

* Follow test-specific procedures to ensure test security and protect passwords.
* Check-in and test takers and direct them to the appropriate seat based on scheduling information.
* Distribute paper test materials or launch exams on computer. Provide instructions on how responses should be submitted.
* Monitor testing rooms on camera and by walking around.
* Ensure prohibited items are not accessed during testing, including during breaks, by monitoring test takers and lockers |

Crosstrain and work as a team member.
* Provide coverage for various other roles in University and Community Testing. This may include becoming certified to administer tests in Prometric testing services, scoring tests using Scantron forms and equipment, and working with large group administrations of placement tests.
* Assist other areas during peak times, which may include working at the Accessibility front desk and proctoring accommodated testing finals.
* Work on special projects, for example, providing information during new student orientation tabling or assisting with the annual student recognition reception. |
