About the role:

The bid manager will have experience in uncovering and using customer feedback and market intelligence to build proposals and presentations, both in response to Requestions for Proposals (RFPs) and in exclusive conversations with current and potential customers. Experienced in presentation design or equivalent activities. Comfortable managing internal resource sites. Has a solid understanding of the publishing business, its services and solutions, the services and solutions of the company's competitors, needs of clients/accounts, and the market.

How you will make an impact:

  • Experience writing, designing, and coordinating the development of proposals and presentations.
  • Leading story and content development for proposals and presentations.
  • Management and continuous development of Bid Resources Library.
  • Overseeing Win-Loss Analysis program.
  • Leading ad-hoc projects and reports as assigned.
  • Coordinate proposal and presentation workflow throughout the bid process: manage the flow of meetings, information and documents to the appropriate people; chair meetings as necessary. Determining the timeframe for each stage of the process and managing all parties to deliver to deadlines.
  • Guide and support proposal story and content development throughout the bid process, using value-selling and other story-design tools. Work with the proposal writer to ensure that the responses are complete, compliant, and compelling.
  • Support and engage in the feedback process for both wins and losses to shape win themes with the sales lead.
  • Maintain, update, and grow the bid resources library (success stories, mini case studies, solution messaging, corporate collateral, RFP and proposal templates, previous bids, etc.)

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2-3 years minimum experience in scholarly publishing, including bid coordination/creation or equivalent activities.
  • Ability to synthesize account-level data, market insights, and develop impactful pitches for potential partners, or equivalent activities. Concise and persuasive communication skills.
  • Highly advanced PowerPoint skills. Advanced Excel skills and good understanding of Power BI capabilities.
  • Self-directed with demonstrated experience meeting objectives and delivering results.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence colleagues in various departments at all levels within Wiley to achieve business goals.
