The Building Attendant takes care of general maintenance and cleaning of assigned buildings and surrounding grounds, including but not limited to: maintaining lighting, small plumbing and electrical repairs, as well as the pool vehicles assigned to those buildings. Additional duties include driving a Company vehicle for general courier services, mail/supplies pickup, and delivery. Performs other duties as required and assigned. Work is performed under general supervision with detailed instructions given on special assignments. Essential Functions
- Oversees cleaning vendors for general housekeeping and maintenance.
- Performs small maintenance repairs in assigned locations, which includes changing light bulbs, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, minor office system and equipment repairs, hanging whiteboards in offices and assembling office furniture items, as needed.
- Ensures all trash is properly removed from assigned locations.
- Report and resolve any obvious building/equipment repairs; identify problems (such as light bulb replacement, lock adjustment, carpet repair, broken glass, holes in walls, ceiling tile replacement, tripping hazards, etc.).
- General courier services including mail and supply pickup and delivery.
- Performs general maintenance to exterior of assigned buildings and surrounding landscape for aesthetics and safety.
- Oversees landscaping vendors for assigned locations.
- Provides preventive maintenance of facility and office equipment.
- Works with vendors/contractors to develop project scope.
- Review vendor/contractor proposals.
- Assists with Special Projects/Inspections and escorting vendors at various locations.
- Inspects fire extinguishers and sprinkler control valves as mandated at assigned buildings.
- Works with the Safety Team to monitor/refill first aid kits at assigned buildings.
- Oversees snow removal vendors and assists as needed between services such as salting sidewalks.
- Pool Vehicles:
- Ensure vehicles are clean inside and out.
- Coordinating routine maintenance and inspections.
- Transport vehicles as needed.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Solid organizational skills.
- Ability to understand mechanical terminology.
- Experience performing small mechanical, plumbing, electrical repairs and carpentry work.
- Ability to organize and schedule varied work activities, while adapting to changes in assignments.
- Basic MS Office Skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Project).
Other Experience & Requirements
- 1-3 years' relevant work experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Trade School achievement preferred.
- Fiber or Telecom industry experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift 50-100lbs. and transport up to 50ft.
- Experienced ability to safely operate power tools, equipment, and hand tools.
- Ability to safely perform all duties in compliance with MSDS guidelines for the use of products, chemicals, and the proper use of safety equipment provided by the Company.
