The Office of Organizational Leadership, housed within University Academic Affairs, aims to build academic leadership capacity in partnership with the four Chancellor-led Units (CLUs). We offer customized internal consultation services for academic units within all CLUs. The Office of Organizational Leadership provides the following services for units identified as priorities within each of the CLUs:
- Advises academic leaders on issues related to strategic planning, priority setting, and continuous improvement, and alignment of goals and priorities with school, chancellor-led unit, and university strategic priorities.
- Discusses approaches for engaging colleagues to develop and implement solutions to achieve continuous improvement.
- Designs and facilitate conversations, workshops, and retreats to advance school and department initiatives that align with chancellor-led unit and university priorities.
- Provides advising and consultation for academic leaders on topics related to leadership, communication, and organizational effectiveness.

Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director for the Rutgers Office of Organizational Leadership. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Organizational Leadership, this position includes responsibility for the design and delivery of internal organizational consultation services to support academic leaders across the institution.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Develops and oversees a mechanism for the intake and execution of new internal consultation projects.
- Supervises a senior program administrator who provides internal consultation support for Rutgers Health projects related to the mission of the Office of Organizational Leadership.
- Facilitates interactive workshops and sessions in support of university-wide and CLU-sponsored academic leadership development programs.
- Participates in research, publications, outreach, and special projects related to the mission of the Office of Organizational Leadership.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in organizational consultation, organizational development, or organizational leadership, preferably within a higher education or other public sector setting.

- Expertise in leadership coaching and/or consultation.
- Ability to balance projects involving high-level strategic thinking and detailed analysis.
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy; ability to work collaboratively and collegially with faculty and staff; ability to work independently; and ability to work with individuals representing diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Ph.D., Ed.D., or terminal degree.
- Proficiency with a variety of instructional delivery modalities.
- Expertise in the areas of leadership, communication, organizational development, change management, and organizational culture.

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
