STV currently has an opening in our Fairfax, VA office for a Roadway Engineering Specialist in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. As a Roadway Engineering Specialist you will have the opportunity to design Roadways and Highways for the communities we serve. The ability to perform independent design, documentation of plans, specifications, estimates, studies, and reports for road/highway projects including but not limited to design projects for public agencies.

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing Roadway Design using OpenRoads, Geopak or InRoads and familiar with the local, state and national roadway design standards

  • Developing design plans including geometry, alignments, and details.

  • Coordinating with design team and other disciplines on design and deliverables.

  • Assisting in development of cost estimates, specifications, and reports.

  • Interact and partner with client management teams and a team of multidisciplinary engineers

Ability to provide technical expertise in the following areas:

  • Roadway/highway design

  • Vertical and horizontal alignments

  • Typical and cross sections

  • Earthwork

  • Signage and pavement markings

  • Quantities and cost estimates

  • Design reports

Required Skills & Required Experience:

  • BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering / EIT Certification is preferred

  • Exposure to design using Bentley MicroStation, GeoPak or InRoads - OpenRoads experience is a ++

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Compensation Range:

$64,044.00 - $85,392.00
