We are seeking a Patient Account Registrar (Nights - 12hr), internally referred to as our Patient Access at Southern Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare at Riverdale, Georgia. A patient service registrar in a hospital is responsible for managing patient information and facilitating the admission process. They serve as a crucial link between patients and the healthcare system, ensuring a smooth administrative process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

Collect and verify personal and medical insurance information from patients for patient registration
• Assist patients in scheduling appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers
• Provide medical information about hospital services and address patient inquiries
• Accurately enter patient data into electronic healthcare systems (what system?)
• Assist with medical billing inquiries and verify medical insurance coverage

Education and Work Experience

1. Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
3. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
5. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Customer Services experience required.
7. High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).
