Know Your Rights: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2022-10/EEOC_KnowYourRights_screen_reader_10_20.pdf Responsibilities The Lead Electroencephalogram (EEG) technologist will assist in overseeing the EEG department and is able to demonstrate expertise in EEG procedures, team leadership, and patient care, ensuring the highest standards of service and quality. Performs EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, and multiple sleep latency EEGs. Responsible for recording and monitoring electrical activity of the patient's brain to study epilepsy, convulsive disorders, and localizing lesions in the cerebrum. Prepare and set up EEG equipment for testing. Maintain and troubleshoot EEG equipment to ensure proper functioning. Educate patients and families about the EEG process and what to expect. Document all procedures and results accurately in patient records. Collaborate with neurologist and other healthcare professionals to discuss finding and contribute to patient care plans. Stay current with advancements in EEG technology and neurodiagnostic practices. Performs clerical duties. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality (CQI) improvement activities. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accurate records of procedures and patient data. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Associate degree in electro neurodiagnostic technology from a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs preferred; certification in EEG technology required. 2. High school diploma or equivalent required. 3. Minimum of two (2) years' experience as an EEG technician required. 4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current. 5. Certification from the American Board of Registered Electroencephalographic Technologies (ABRET) preferred. 6. Strong knowledge of neurophysiology and EEG principles. Connect With Us!
