Description
The Electronics Technicians is responsible to troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate various products across the facility and its value streams. There is a strong emphasis in cross-training and becoming proficient in producing a variety of products supporting Mirion's radiation monitoring and measuring products. Essential Duties
- Required to cross-train across multiple value streams per plan.
- Visually inspect solder application and joints for defects.
- Execute high-quality board-level repairs and component change-outs on PCBAs.
- Clean finished boards to remove flux residue.
- Confirm location of components against schematics.
- Product assembly and test per documented procedures.
- Troubleshoot products and systems.
- Repair and refurbish Mirion products for internal rework and the repair center as required.
- Assist in conducting physical inventory and cycle counting.
- Record production and time activity in reporting systems.
- Calibration of Mirion products (requires T&R clearance from the NRC).
- Obey all safety rules and regulations for the Oak Ridge site.
- Submit safety opportunities for improvement through the Tier 1 and 2 processes.
- Promptly report safety near misses or incidents to EHS or management.
- Ensure compliance with our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
- Assist in internal auditing when requested.
- Remain current in all required compliance training.
- Obey all site regulations in accordance with the policies published in the Employee Handbook and by Human Resources.
Essential Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lb. infrequently.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Additional Requirements
- Certification in industrial soldering preferred (IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721, etc.).
- Ability to identify electronic components required.
- Ability to read electrical schematics required.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits required.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and interview process to obtain Trustworthiness and Reliability (T&R) status from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to work with Category 1 and 2 radioactive materials, required.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree or certificate program in Electronics Engineering Technology, Certificate program in Electronics Repair and Troubleshooting, or equivalent industrial experience, required.
- 3-5 years of production manufacturing experience.
