Position Highlights |
The Department of Family & Community Medicine seeks an extraordinary individual to fill our role of Program Coordinator, Senior. Primary responsibilities involve management of all aspects of the Global Health Academic Program in the College of Medicine. This includes the Global Health Distinction Track (GHDT), GME Global Health, faculty related GH work, and related global health programs. For medical students, in addition to the 4 track courses, other rotations managed include those for non-GHDT students and the International Away Elective. Responsibilities also include coordination of the Global Health Interprofessional Event, Global Health Research Day and faculty functions such as the Global Health Faculty Networking/Lunch event. Also assist with awards and scholarships. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Collects program evaluations, and completes data analysis to assess the effectiveness of the Global Health program with co-directors, making recommendations on programming.
- Works with co-directors to strategize sessions for the multiple academic rotations in various overseas locations, design, develop and implement academic programs which align with institutional goals and objectives.
- Formulates content (goals, objectives, readings, resources) in partnership with faculty and co-directors.
- Oversees 1st-4th Year Medical Students.
- Schedule needed sessions for students.
- Coordinate the Global Health Inter-professional Events.
- Schedule and reserve rooms and work with rotation locations for accommodations.
- Arrange for class facilitators with partnering organizations.
- Responsible for all equipment for the courses.
- Invite guest faculty to present topics relevant to classes.
- Posts to Community D2L site.
- Assist students with their 4-8-week required international rotation by providing information, resources and forms so all documentation needed for travel is completed and timely.
- Submit Travel Authorizations for all students and residents traveling out of the country.
- Track all students and residents traveling abroad.
- Collaborate with the GME team regarding multiple resident overseas rotations.
- Work with co-directors to vet sites and ensure safety.
- Communicate with students while they are out of the country and triage any issues in consultation with the co-directors.
- Compile reports from session and course surveys to be shared with co-directors and faculty.
- Oversee the completion and collection of required items at the conclusion of students' rotations (GeoJournal, Reflection, evaluations, pictures).
- Maintain student records to include year of graduation, travel dates, sites, courses taken.
- Manage and send out the Global Health Newsletter twice a year.
- Register all students in OASIS.
- Post grades to OASIS and UAccess.
- Request stipends.
- Monitor accounts to stay within budget.
- Order supplies.
- Process expense reimbursements.
- Reconcile accounts with reports provided by the Business Office.
- Assist with awards by sending out call for nominations, collecting applications, ordering plaques.
- Arrange for events by notifying participants, reserving rooms, ordering food, tracking participants, arranging other details as needed.
- Update the global health and class websites as needed.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, formulate proposals and grant applications.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
