Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a variety of academic testing services to students and faculty at the College of DuPage Glen Ellyn Academic Testing Center and District 502 high schools. Assist in maintaining an optimal testing environment that adheres to National College Testing Association (NCTA) Professional Standards and Guidelines. Work with faculty, Testing Services staff on and off-campus, and other College departments to maintain consistency of testing policies and procedures.
Maintain an extensive knowledge of all academic testing policies and procedures. Master complex test delivery software to administer tests including Certification, Classroom, Health Science, Interest Inventories, Internet/Hybrid, Placement, Proficiency and Special Program testing in a paper or computer-based format. Pass proctor certification tests and recertify annually to ensure proctor eligibility as required by testing companies. Determine testing needs of a diverse student population and identify options available to meet their specific goals. Communicate test results and explain retest options. Connect students to the Learning Commons for academic support services, advisors for course placement and other College departments for further assistance. Maintain professional standards in a high stress, fast-paced environment. Simultaneously use a variety of COD software applications. Identify, trouble shoot, resolve technical issues, and collaborate with the College's Information Technology department on maintenance and technical problems. Contact and work with testing companies to resolve system problems. Respond to students, faculty, staff and community members by phone, email, or in person to explain or clarify testing policies and procedures. Understand and follow FERPA privacy guidelines to assure student confidentiality. Actively proctor and use surveillance equipment to maintain test security. Conduct visual inspections of test takers to insure that unauthorized materials are not taken into the testing room. Document testing irregularities, discrepancies or acts of dishonesty.Assist faculty with submitting tests either in person or online through the College's Employee Portal. Process online test intake forms and return completed exams to faculty as outlined in Academic Testing Center procedures. Document and track return method of completed exams.Collaborate with Center for Access and Accommodations staff to provide testing accommodations to students with disabilities. Offer and enable the use of assistive technology and schedule private testing room upon request. Proctor academic group test administrations on campus and at area high schools. Work with high school staff to ensure a successful testing experience for students. Update the College's student record system by entering COD test scores. Participate in College wide activities representing the Testing Center. Other related duties as assigned.This fast-paced and detailed customer service environment requires the ability to work a varied scheduled, including day, evening and Saturdays with possible travel to provide testing services at other locations.
Qualifications:
- Education
- Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience
- One year of customer service experience required. Attention to detail and accuracy are required. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Excellent technical skills.
- Prior experience in an educational setting preferred.

Hiring Range:
Classified 9 Hourly/19.00 - 19.00
