Job Summary

Provides direct and indirect counseling services to patients and their families using individual, group, and family therapy. Provides bio-psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment planning and coordination with multidisciplinary team. Remains open to clinical and peer supervision process.

Accountabilities

  • Completes an accurate biopsychosocial assessment, including competency in diagnostic determinations and determination of appropriate level of care for patient. - 50%
  • Provides direct and indirect clinical/therapeutic services to patients and their families with clinical supervision as needed. - 10%
  • Develops and individualized treatment plan including measurable treatment goals related to patient's presenting problems. Participates as an active member of the multi-disciplinary treatment plan. - 10%
  • Provides the most appropriate therapy, specific to patient's symptoms. - 10%
  • Performs any case management responsibilities involved with direct patient care. This includes, but is not limited to, Utilization Review, Discharge Planning, Family Involvement/Education, timely and appropriate documentation of care provided, communication with referral sources, completion of short term disability paperwork and communication with patient's employers as well as coordination of care with multidisciplinary treatment team and outside community providers. - 10%
  • Participates in outcome monitoring activities. - 10%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's Degree - Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related human services field
  • No previous experience required

Required Certification/Registrations/Licenses

Currently licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners, or currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Addiction (LPC-A) by the South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists, or currently licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist-Addiction (LMFT-A) by the South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.

  • Group, individual, and family therapy skills, psychiatric problem solving abilities, assessment skills, treatment planning skills. - Required
