JOB SUMMARY This is a great opportunity to become a motivational and supportive leader within Melwood. We are seeking an individual with passion for the industry and the drive to support Melwood's mission. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will seek to strengthen our relationships at the site level with our clients and tenants. Candidate is preferred to have five (5) years of supervisory experience with 50 or more employees. Extensive experience as craftsman/tradesman in construction or facilities engineering; or, design construction experience in engineering; or construction/facility related experience in business. Proven record of success in contracting, logistics, talent development, team building, and strategic planning. A record of accomplishment in directing all aspects of facility operations, budgeting, equipment maintenance, preparation and negotiation of detailed cost proposals and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must have or the ability to obtain a government security clearance. Must be able to work varied hours including evening and weekend in order to meet project deadlines. POSITION DESCRIPTION
SUPERVISION EXERCISED The Assistant Project Manager supervises the Grounds Maintenance Manager, Building Maintenance Staff, Custodial Site Supervisor/Foreman and Facilities Management (Subcontractor). SUPERVISION RECEIVED The incumbent is supervised by the Project Manager or the Vice President of Facilities Management Services. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to effectively communicate with government representatives, management team, staff, etc. Seeing, depth perception, and ability to identify and distinguish colors are required in order to inspect work and to carry out duties. Must be able to stand 50% of the work time and sit 50%, must be able to lift/carry 30 pounds and push/pull 30 pounds. These requirements are necessary in order to inspect work areas, and carry out administrative duties. He/she must be able to climb, stoop, kneel Preferred five (5) years of supervisory experience of 50 or more employees.
