To help guide the collaborative effort, we are in search of a Software Engineer III to join our team.

We are seeking a dedicated engineer to join Northwestern Mutual's Investments Data Engineering Organization. You will be instrumental in building high-quality applications that aid our client's in servicing their products and in modernizing our technology stack. Key responsibilities include ingesting, cleaning, and aggregating investment data from various sources, supporting the operations of a top 10 independent broker dealer and wealth management companies. Utilizing AWS Cloud infrastructure, databricks, and a robust CI/CD pipeline, you will drive the technical vision of our data ingestion and delivery efforts while collaborating with a talented team of engineers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recommends efficiencies to current established development and continuous integration practices.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues that may arise during the development and deployment of software projects.

  • Conducts thorough code evaluation to ensure compliance with established coding standards and best practices.

  • Has an evolving understanding of system-wide architectural challenges.

  • Contributes to technical discussions and decision-making processes within the team.

  • May take on a mentoring role and provide guidance and support to junior technical talent.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years professional experience required.

  • Must have at least 1 year experience with specific technical requirements/platforms, including:SQL, Python, Databricks, Spark, Airflow, Distributed File System, Control-M and AWS

  • Familiarity using continuous integration and deployment concepts and SDLC.

  • Data Engineering and Warehousing knowledge

  • Understanding of Investments and Client Data domain

  • Ability to communicate between Product, Engineering, and the business.

  • Unix/Linux, ETL & BI Tool

  • Production Batch support

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$90,930.00

Pay Range - End:

$168,870.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
